Gretchen Rubin’s Happiness Project

Gretchen Rubin’s Happiness Project was featured on The Today Show this morning, and after doing some research I am left to believe that happy people are less concerned about making money than unhappy people. You see, usually when people are trying to sell books — and The Happiness Project is a book — they make sure to not give away the “secret” contained in the book so that people will buy it.

However, you don’t need fast cash to conduct your own project, because The Happiness Project is also a blog and, like most blogs, it’s free. This week’s post talks about buying things in the right amount — not too much, not too little. On Gretchen Rubin’s Happiness Project blog, she writes:

So, basically, what Gretchen Rubin is saying is that you don’t need to buy her book to benefit from her expertise in the field of happiness. However, I think a lot of people will want to read her story. The Happiness Project, the book, tells about Gretchen Rubin’s one-year-long Happiness Project, during which she made small changes in one area of her life each month.

As she describes it, she was test-driving various theories about how to be happier. She focused on organization and health in  January, her marriage in February, work in March, etc.

Did it work?
